When using heat pumps a lot of air is moving through system , if you are using heat pumps for air conditioning a lot of moisture is also moving through your heat pump , before you shut down your heat pump after air conditioning you should run your fan only mode to dry coil , if not moisture will sit and enhance the build up of mold , quaility heat pumps like LG that we sell will also have a auto clean function that will enable heat pump to stay on after use for 30 minutes to self clean .
